Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Old Towne Notary, we value both your time and ours. Because we are an appointment-based mobile notary service, each appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. This Refund & Cancellation Policy is a legally binding agreement designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and professionalism.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made with 24+ hours’ notice are eligible for a full refund of any prepaid fees.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a 20% cancellation fee (minimum $25).

  • Clients may reschedule once at no charge if at least 24 hours’ notice is provided.

  • Additional reschedules, or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice, may incur a $15 reschedule fee.

No-Shows & Late Arrivals

  • A 10-minute grace period is provided after the scheduled start time. If the client has not arrived, called, or responded to communication within that time, the appointment may be canceled and the full appointment/travel fee will be charged.

  • Failure to appear without notice (“no-show”) results in no refund.

Partial Payment Situations
If a notarization cannot be completed due to issues caused by the signer(s)—such as refusal to sign, lack of valid ID, or missing required parties—a partial payment is still due to cover travel and time:

  • Zone A (Local Visit): $25

  • Zone B (Extended Local Visit): $35

  • Zone C (Regional Visit): $45

  • Zone D (Extended Regional Visit): $55

  • Zone E (Long Distance Visit): $75

If any notarizations are completed before the appointment is stopped, notarial act fees will also apply in addition to the appointment fee.

Non-Refundable Services
Some services involve costs that cannot be recovered once performed. These are non-refundable once begun:

  • Printing, scan-backs, courier drop-offs, and facility coordination.

  • Apostille services and courier services once fees have been paid to agencies or carriers.

  • Discounted packages (veterans, seniors, or promotional offers) — subject to the same cancellation/no-show terms above.

Refunds that are approved will be issued to the original form of payment within 5–7 business days.
